Viettoc Foundation Background
At the end of 1997, following the closure of a mission to assist the refugees in Hong Kong, I have returned to Viet Nam and taken a whirlwind tour from the North to the South. Although, the civil war in Viet Nam ended 25 plus years ago, the impact and damages are far beyond one’s imaginations. War-torn Viet Nam has tried hard, but still has a long way to go in its rebuilding process. In Vietnam, there are still many needs that must be met. According to my observations, one of the most significant needs, which often gets neglected, is education for the minorities children. The hill tribes people in the highland regions I visited live in extreme poverty without the opportunity to pursue a better life.
After my initial visit, I have taken other follow-up trips to the same regions to investigate what I, what we, together can do for these unfortunate children. I found that $60 dollars is all that is needed to give a child the opportunity to go to school for one year. I beseech you and call you to help in providing these underprivileged children a means to get an education and thus a chance for a better future.
I also thank God for allowing me to come into contact with you, generous souls who have sacrificed much in order to share with those less fortunate. Please continue to pray for one another. And let us, also, continue to extend our hands and broaden our circle of friendships. May God grant you and your family many blessings.
Our Goal
Viet Toc hopes that through the Links of Love program, you will join us in helping to improve the lives of those in dire need in Vietnam, especially with the education of underprivileged Montagnard children.
Mission Of Statement
Viet Toc’s mission is to provide and promote education for underprivileged Montagnard children. These children live in remote villages in the Highlands of Lam Dong, GiaLai (including Pleiku, Duc Co, and others), H-Mong and Buon Ma Thuot. Among them are orphans as well as children whose parents suffer from leprosy.
We also help in providing the most basic health and sanitary needs for the impoverished Montagnard people.
