– Our Journey To The Highland –
Just finished with visiting our Việt Tộc college students in Qui Nhơn. We are thankful for the wonderful spirit of our students who are making big progress not only in their studies but also in their spiritual and human development.
We are looking forward to some on their final year who will graduate this summer and start a new chapter of their lives of living and giving back.
We thank God for the loving support from the Diocesan Youth Ministry and the care of the local Sisters of the Lovers of the Cross of Qui Nhơn.
Together with the religious community of the Sisters of the Queen of Peace, Việt Tộc takes up the challenge of reshaping the future of this very poor M’Nong community by way of education for our young people.
Thanks be to God for the fruits of the labor of Love of many generous and caring hearts: one priest, three religious sisters, one doctor, a number of teachers, who are now giving back.
We are visiting our Việt Tộc students in various boarding centers under the care of the Sisters of St. Paul de Chartres in Buôn Ma Thuộc regions.
We honor and appreciate the selfgiving dedication of the religious communities in the Highlands in caring for the young people and helping them build better future through education.
This small community of H’Mong are being supported to provide necessary means to grow stronger physically and spiritually.
We thank God for a number of students willing to go to school with our scholarships so to be prepared for better future. Thank you benefactors for your care.
We pray that the dreams of our children of the Ê Ðê community be realized, with the support of our Việt Tộc family and of many loving hearts in the local parish and our local Việt Tộc team, the dreams of being successful in their studies so to be able to give back to their families and their village.
Wonderful cooperation of caring leaders in the community, priests, religious, and lay team members will are making difference in the lives of our young Montagnards of different tribes in this region through education.
We thank you benefactors for helping provide 199 scholarships for this region.
It is wonderful not only to witness the faith of a community of 11,000 members of the M’Nong tribe in this remote region, with the beautiful church built with their own hands and hearts, but also to experience the harmonious cooperation between the priests and religious and lay leaders who dedicate their lives to serve to poor.
Only when we venture into being with our people are we able to become part of their lives.
First time stopping at Ea Nam, Ea H’leo region were warmly welcomed with the village’s elders and Jrai students. With their continuously efforts and also with the support of Viet Toc, the students in these villages now are more confident and some have their hope to reach the university for a career.
We finally offered a chance to share a meal with them all. The dishes were simple but very authentic that you would never find nowhere.
Though we were not allowed to come and meet with the children and family in this remote village, we finally made it on the next morning to spend quality time with our beautiful children whom we sponsor with scholarship.
To affirm and motivate our little ones to build their lives with education in spite of uphill challenges.
Celebrating the spirit of the upcoming New Year with our 30 Bahnar Việt Tộc students under the care of the Sisters of Lovers of the Cross of Qui Nhơn, in Pleiku.
Beautiful celebration of the Feast of the Conversion of St. Paul the Apostle with the community of the Sisters of Sr Paul in Thanh An area, with our Việt Tộc children.
Visiting Dak Glei, a remote village which is about 167 km away from Pleiku Town, 3 hour and 35 min drive; reside a Paul de Charles Community that care for 37 students in boarding house.
Those students belong to Xe-Dang, Gie Trieng; come from remoted villages and are staying for studying high school with the sponsored of Viet toc. At least 10 students originally from this very house, are now doing their college study in those big cities like Kontum, Gia Lai and Da Nang.
We support this boarding home with scholarships for 139 students of the Bahnar tribe in the Mang Yang region, under the care of a Redemptorist priest and his team, Fr Cao Đinh. Education is the best investment in building up the future of our Montagnard younger generation.
